Welcome to Workshops at the Fort!

We'll explore text analysis, character development, voice and body work, and various acting methodologies to delve into amazing material from great playwrights. We'll explore games and exercises, short scenes and monologues throughout the month. This session is only offered quarterly with limited spots available and it is a pre-requisite for all advanced Fort Heart workshops.

A working room of auditions where we will explore all aspects of preparing for an audition. We'll also have tapings on site so you can see your work progress in real time and have the option of building a demo reel throughout our stand alone sessions. Bring auditions you are currently working on or we will provide suitable sides for you.

Develop your own process and artistic practice as we work each month on a dedicated scene with your scene partner. Build your skill sets as we set intentions for progress and goal areas for improvement. Along the way we'll incorporate learning about all acting fundamentals, techniques, and methodologies.

Spots are limited and offered on a first come, first serve basis for those who have completed the prerequisite course Acting Fundamentals & Technique.

Come out and join us for a fun filled Saturday Skills Lab! During this day you can expect acting exercises, games, skill building activities and more! Not to mention working with amazing folks from across the Fort Heart Community as we explore a different skill set each month. 

Spots are limited and offered on a first come, first serve basis and are open to all! Offered on the second Saturday of each month.

Always wanted to be in front of the camera but haven't had the chance to train? Here's a great place to get started and get the knowledge you need to be an asset to production on set! We'll go over the basics of believable background acting as well as the essentials of Set Etiquette (known as "Setiquette" in the biz). 

More opportunities for actors and background actors are coming to the Maritimes and this course will set you up to be successful in submitting for those opportunities and performing while on set if cast in any local productions.

What does casting want? And how can you deliver it? We'll explore the business side of acting as we go through all the steps from preparing your submission materials  for casting calls, through submitting, auditioning and call back prep.
